Sunflower by Stampin' Up

Consider it CASED...from one of my best friends and stamping cohorts, Marcia.  Check out her blog at http://marciasstampinpad.blogspot.com/2013/09/big-sunflower.html.

I used my water pen and water colored using SU's "Pumpkin Pie" and "Daffodil Delight" ink on the leaves of SU's "Sunflower" and water colored "Chocolate Chip" ink by Stampin' Up for the center of the flower.  I then stamped the "Sunflower" on white card stock.  I used SU's "Chocolate Chip" on the Happy Birthday by PTI's "Inside & Out Birthdays".  I mounted the white card stock to SU's "Chocolate Chip" and "Pumpkin Pie Designer Paper" (discontinued) and then mounted those layers on "Chocolate Chip" card stock to finish it off.

The season of Fall

I'm back with another fall card.  I used this card as a sympathy card for a friend whose mother passed away. I used Gina K's Pure Luxury layering white card stock and sponged on Stampin' Up inks  "Crushed Curry", "Pumpkin Pie", "Perfect Plum" and "Old Olive".  I then stamped Penny Black's "Snow Dust" trees 3 times in Momento's "Tuxedo Black" and used Copic markers for the fall "leaf" colors.  I then stamped the verse from Stampin' Up's Wonderful Watercolors (retired). and attached the card to another Gina K Pure Luxury white card stock and Stampin' Up's "Old Olive" card stock and used a green ribbon from my ribbon stash to finish up the card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Gently Falling

I didn't have time to enter any challenges this week or did I have a chance to make any cards this week.  The card I am showing you today, I made for my Aunt Nancy's birthday, which was earlier this month.  I love fall and the colors that go with the season.

I used SU's "Pumpkin Pie" and "Old Olive" card stock.  I sponged SU's "Pumpkin Pie", "Old Olive" and "Crushed Curry" on white card stock for the background of this card.  I used a sheet music stamp (Stampington & Co.'s "Brahms Original") and "Cat Tails" by Paper Inspirations stamp as a background in SU's "Crumb Cake".  Over the top, I stamped SU's "Gently Falling" in SU's "Early Expresso".  I also fussy cut out some of the "Gently Falling" leaves out of another piece of card stock that I had sponged up like the background and adhered them to the front of the card with pop-up dots.  I found some green ribbon to finish off the card and stamped Happy Birthday on the piece of scrap card stock (I think it was SU's "Barely Banana" which is discontinued).

A perfect card for the first day of fall.  Thank you for stopping by.

Snowflakes Sparkle on a Fir Tree, DD #69 challenge

I'm back again with a card for this week's Dynamic Duos color challenge.  When I first looked to see what the color challenge was for this week, I wasn't so sure I wanted to work with these two colors.  What in the world would I create?  Well come Sunday night, I had my idea.  I can honestly say I wasn't thinking a card for Christmas or winter, but that's what it ended up being.  A great card to mass produce, seeing how I send out almost a 100 Christmas cards each year.

I used white cardstock and stamped the fir tree from SU's "Lovely As A Tree" stamp set in SU's "Old Olive" ink.  I then blocked off the rest of the card and sponged in SU's "Pacific Point" ink.  I used SU's new pen, "White Stampin' Chalk Marker for the white dots and the snow the tree.  Love this pen, by the way...best white pen ever!  The sentiment is from PTI's "In the Meadow" and I stamped that in SU's "Old Olive" ink.  I mounted the card on SU's "Pacific Point" cardstock.  Thank you Dynamic Duos for this color combination.  I am in love!  Thank you for stopping by.

Field Flower

So my sister asked if I would make a birthday card for a friend of hers.  Of course, every other month or so I seem to go into a non-creative funk.  Well that's how I felt over the weekend.  So I turned to Pinterest, some of my favorite blogs and starting working on ideas in my head and here is what I came up with at the last minute, of course.

I used white cardstock and stamped SU's Field Flower  in SU's Soft Sky and Pacific Point inks.  The stem is stamped in SU's Old Olive.  I sponged the background with SU's Daffodil Delight ink.  I used embroidery floss for the bow.  Happy Birthday is from SU's stamp set Well Scripted (retired) which is stamped with SU's Pacific Point.  The bling on the bottom is from Michael's, which I bought over a year ago and now they don't carry them anymore.  I mounted the card on SU's Pacific Point cardstock.

I do love how it turned out...simple but very nice.  I hope my sister and her friend love it as much as I do.

I'll be back again tomorrow as I have a card I also made for Dynamic Duos challenge for this week and have to post it before noon on Thursday!  Thank you for stopping by.

Dynamic Dous #68 Challenge using Flower Shop Stamp Set

So for the very first time, I decided to take part in a blog challenge from Dynamic Duos.  I have been following their blog for about a year and have used their color ideas from time to time, but never submitted a card for their challenge until today.

I love the color purple, but don't use Perfect Plum very often. I used Perfect Plum card stock and a small card stock strip of Primrose Petals.  The grey card stock strip is shimmery and purchased at a local scrapbook store.  I used a flower stamp from Stampin' Up's Flower Shop stamp set, which I absolutely love!!  I stamped flowers randomly on white card stock in Stampin' Up's Perfect Plum, Primrose Petals and Smoky Slate.  I also used a dots background stamp from Stamps by Judith in Smoky Slate, too.  I then put the white card stock through my Cuttlebug with the Happy Birthday Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug, too.  I then took a sponge and sponged over the embossed image with Smoky Slate to bring out the words.  I also punched out another flower with the coordinating Stampin' Up Pansy Punch.  I would have never thought to put Perfect Plum and Primrose Petals together, but I loved how it turned out and adding the Smoky Slate was just icing on the "card".  Enjoy and thank you for stopping by my blog.

Graduate Card

Good evening everyone,
Wow time does fly when you're busy.  I hadn't realized how long it had been since I posted a card.  Here's the graduation card I made for one of my friend's daughter.  Her last to graduate.  I used Always Artichoke (retired, Stampin' Up) as the background cardstock and attached black cardstock (has a shimmer to it, don't remember who the manufacturer is) on the Always Artichoke.  I stamped the Graduate Stamp (Paper Inspirations) in Tuxedo Black ink (Momento) and 3 of the butterflies from an old Stampin' Up stamp set (which I don't remember the name of) in Tuxedo Black ink on a sheet of designer paper from BoBunny's Country Garden Collection.  The green sparkling ribbon was recycled from some flowers I received earlier in the year.  The ribbon worked great with this card.  I knew keeping the ribbon was a great idea, even if every time I pick up the ribbon, I get glitter all over me!  Thanks again for stopping by!

Flowering Flourishes Thank you

I CASed these thank you cards from a good friend, who is also a Stampin' Up demonstrator, Deb Bird, at a stamp camp she held last fall.  I never really looked at this stamp set (Flowering Flurishes) until she made this card.  As you can see, I fell in love with this set.  I've used it in different colors many times.  The green sets (Stampin' Up Old Olive cardstock and ink and Gumball Green cardstock and ink) I made for one of my co-workers who wanted some thank you notes.  I finished the cards off with some crystal stickles.

The purple card I made was for a wedding shower gift for another good friend's daughter who was married a week ago.  I made her 40 cards.  I used purple, as that was the color of the bridesmaids' dresses.  It was stamped with Stampin' Up's Concord Crush ink and the textured purple cardstock I bought at my local scrapbook store, Scrap, Scribble and Stick.  I used gemstones by the Paper Studio that I found at Hobby Lobby.  The thank you stamp is also from Stampin' Up, but I don't know which set it came from.  FYI, Concord Crush has been discontinued from Stampin' Up.  Gumball Green in one of the 2012-2014 in colors.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope to have another post later this week.  I still have a graduation card, a wedding card and a couple of birthday cards to show.

It's fishing time again!

For those who don't know me, I love "Peanuts".  They have been my favorite for as long as I can remember.  I thought it was a perfect time of year to use this stamp for a birthday card.

Products used:  Stampin' Up's basic gray and perfect plum cardstock.  Watercolor blender pen used to color the water and sky with Stampin' Up's Baja Breeze and Bashful Blue inks.  Copic markers: YG63, B0000, BV11, B32, B34, Y13, T7, N1 and N4.  Stampabilities Fishing Time stamped with Tuxedo Black in by Momento.  The purple ribbon was purchased at Micheal's a few years ago.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope to have another post later this week.  I have a couple thank you cards to show you.

Father's Day

I hope everyone enjoyed their Father's Day!  We did.  We had Al's family over for a cookout of steaks and brats.  It was a great day with great food.  We didn't have any leftovers, except for potato chips, buns and dessert!  I call that a successful day.  I had time to make a card for my dad and Al's dad, unfortunately, not for Al.  Tim made him a card on the computer instead.  My dad spent part of the day with my 3 sisters and their families on my sister Kathy's pontoon boat on the river.  They had a beautiful day, too!  I wish I could have been in both places at once!  My dad loves old cars, so here's his card...

I used SU's basic brown cardstock (discontinued), old olive cardstock and baja breeze cardstock (discontinued)
I stamped the '57 chevy convertible (discontinued) in baja breeze.  The buttons are SU old olive and I also used hemp to help finish off the card.  Unfortunately, I don't remember who the manufacturer is for the designer paper.  I purchased it at my local scrapbook store.

This is the card I made for my Father-in-law.
This card, I CASed from my Stampin' Up demonstrator, Deb Bird.  We made a card similar to this one at our last stamp camp.  I added the button and ribbon to change it up a bit.  I used SU's basic brown cardstock (discontinued), pacific point cardstock and confetti cardstock (discontinued).  I stamped the bicycle (Feeling Sentimental-discontinued) in Momento rich cocoa and celebrate (Feeling Sentimental-discontinued) was stamped with Staz-on black.  I used pacific point buttons, hemp and brown plaid ribbon (don't remember manufacturer).   Thank you for stopping by!

Blooming with Kindness Mother's Day card

Time sure does fly by when you can't find a few minutes to post a few cards at least once a month.  Well, I thought I better upload the Mother's Day card I made for my mom and for my mother-in-law.  I would also like to thank my good friend and stamping partner, Marcia Hill, for letting me borrow "Blooming with Kindness".  She has a great blog and posts almost every day.  Here's the link to her blog...http://marciasstampinpad.blogspot.com/
I made this one for my mom.  I thought I got a good picture of the one for my mother-in-law, but it was too dark.

Gina K. Pure Luxury Cardstock
Stampin' Up Pool Party Cardstock
Stampin' Up Tangerine Tango and Pool Party Ink
Stampin' Up Blooming with Kindness Stamp set
Versa Mark Ink
Stampin' Up Tangerine Tango ribbon and Pool Party button

I stamped the Blooming with Kindness flower with Tangerine Tango ink.
I also stamped Blooming with Kindness with "Versa Mark" ink around the border of the white card stock and embossed those blooms with a pearl white embossing powder and heat set them.  I then sponged around the embossed blooms with Pool Party ink.
I finished off the card with Tangerine Tango ribbon and a Pool Party button and mounted stamped card to Pool Party cardstock that I also stamped with Blooming with Kindness stamp with Pool Party Ink around the border of the card.

I did the same card for my mother-in-law, but substituted the Tangerine Tango for Daffodil Delight.  It turned out just a pretty.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope to get back on track and start posting once a week again.  I have some cards to post from earlier this year, but not sure if I will remember everything I used when making the cards.

Thank you

Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a great weekend.  I was able to sit down and stamp for awhile on Saturday, so I thought I would try to make PaperTrey Ink's "black" challenge, even though I was too late to post it for a chance to win.  I fussy cut out the leaves/stem and the flowers.  I used the leaves/stems and stamped over it with the White Craft Ink to "block" out different leaves/stems on the black cardstock.  I then taped down the leaves/stem on the black cardstock and used pop dots on the flowers.  I die-cut the flower tag and stamped thank you.  I then attached the ribbon to the black cardstock and adhered it to the red cardstock.  Enjoy your week.  I might post again before the end of the week with one of the other cards I made a few of my friends as Christmas gifts.  I hope you'll stop by again.

Stamps: Embroidered Blooms and Tiny Tags by PaperTrey Ink
Die: Tiny Tags by PaperTrey Ink
Ink: Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Real Red, Primrose Petals, So Saffron and Craft Ink in White all by Stampin' Up.

Think Snow!

Sorry for the long break.  I had to get all the year-end reports for work done before the end of January, so I've been a tad bit busy.  But now that task is done for another year, I can focus on my fun again.  This card is one of a set of three I made for some friends as their Christmas gifts to pass on as thank yous, birthdays, well wishes, whatever they need a card for.  I left the inside blank just for that reason.

Stamp: Think Snow by Whipper Snapper Designs
Cardstock: Lovely Lilac by Stampin' Up, and white cardstock by Gina K
Designer Paper: Winter Wishes by Echo Park
Embossing Folder: Sizzix
Copic Markers: C5, Y17, YR68, BV13, B0000 and Y05
I also used a clear glitter marker.

I fell in love with this stamp.  I love to look at snow, but I don't like to drive in it!  We are getting our first major snow for the season today.   Hard to believe we hadn't had any real measurable snow before today!

I hope to be back on my weekly posting schedule.  I will post another one of the cards I made for them next week.  Enjoy your week!
