A little Happy for MIM #243

Happy Easter!!!  The sun is rising into a beautiful blue sky!  It looks a lot warmer than 36 degrees, though.

I spent yesterday making 2 Babkas (first time ever).  They turned out ahh..just okay.  And some cards, too.

Here's the one I made for Make It Monday #243, Ink Blending over Heat Embossing.  I always love using this technique and seeing the end result when you sponge the ink over the white or clear heat embossing.

Here's the panel I started out with...and the two cards I made from it below...

PTI's Create Along With Us (March Release)

My inspiration for this month's "Create Along With Us" came from Kay Miller.  Kay, I love your style.  Kay impresses me with her bright and bold color choices and her water coloring skills.  I wish my cards would turn out as stunning as her's do!  She inspires me all the time!!!

Here's the card Kay made that inspired me this month.

Unfortunately I didn't have the ink colors she used, but have added them to my wishlist for my next PTI order, along with a few other things :)  It never ends!!

I added more splatter then Kay did and after uploading my picture I realized I forgot to add the sequins...oops!  I had to make my own striped paper.  I used one of the stripes from Simons Says Jumbo Stripes Stamp Set.  It only took a few minutes to make.  I'm going to have to remember this.  I can never find striped paper in the right color and this was a very easy fix.

TH water color paper
SU Bermuda Bay ink
TH Distress Inks in Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron (I love both of those colors!!!)
PTI's Friendly Flowers stamp set and dies
PTI's Thanks (I cut off the "s") and You from Wet Paint Cut Dies I and II.
SSS Circle Loops die (cut 3 times)
SSS Jumbo Stripes

Thanks for stopping by, I love it when you do!  My week will be quite busy at church as Holy Week starts...so I may not have a chance to post.  In case I don't, may you all have a wonderfully blessed Easter!

MIM - You're on my mind...

Hi everyone,
Here's a card I made using Dawn's sponged stamping technique for PTI's Make It Monday #242.  You can watch her video here

SU's Melon Mambo cs
Gina K's Pure Luxury White cs
PTI's Sentiment Splits, Curve Horizontal Die
PTI's Beautiful Butterflies and Blooming Button Bits Stamp Sets
PTI's inks - Lavender Moon, Plum Pudding, Winter Wisteria, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Berry Sorbet, Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain & Aqua Mist.
HA's Unicorn White Pigment Ink
White Embossing Powder
White pearls

Such a fun technique to play with.  I really like how my card turned out and this is only the 2nd time I used this die.  I had to have them both, the horizontal and the vertical, and was on a waiting list forever.  I know I haven't used the vertical one at all.  I need to keep them where I'll see them and use them more often.

Thank you for stopping by, I love it when you do.  Have a great week.

A Stencil Happy Birthday

Hi everyone,
I only had time to make one card today, but IRL how it turned out.  I love when ideas pop in my head and I give them a whirl and they actually work!

This card is for four challenges this week.  I love it when that happens.  First and foremost, the card originates from PTI's Make It Monday Challenge #241.  Ombre stencil blending with Betsy Veldman.  She used three colors with her sample, but I only used two and after I finished the card, and looked at Betsy's sample again, did I realize, I should not have filled up the whole page.  It's suppose to fade into white.  Oops!  Not very ombre.  The colors I chose are from this week's CTD #382, hot pink, teal, white and black.  This card also works for Darnell's NBUS Challenge #6 and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - add texture, which is the white and black embossing.  For Darnell's Challenge, the Tim Holtz stencil is my NBUS.  You might notice that there is some white embossing peeking out from under the black embossed butterflies.  I originally did them in white, but they were getting lost on the page, so I changed them to black.  IRL the white peeking out under the black.

Gina K's Pure White Luxury CS
SU's Black CS
PTI's Raspberry Fizz ink
Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers
VersaMark
Black VersaFine Ink
TH Lattice Work Stencil
PTI's Turning a New Leaf, Beautiful Blooms and Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Sets
White and Black embossing powder

I am going to be making up more of these cards to have on hand!

Thank you so much for stopping by and really love it when you do.
