Fun Colors...

What a beautiful winter day we are having again today in Michigan.  It is the 2nd day in I don't know how long that it is in the mid 30's and the sun is shining!  Before long, we will be wearing boots like the one in CTD's challenge picture...I can't wait.  It will not only mean it is getting closer to summer, but the snow will finally be gone!

Today's card is for the Color Throwdown #332.  The colors are navy blue, turquoise, kraft and red.  At first, I was struggling thinking what am I going to do with these colors.  I tell you, these ladies love to get me to thinking beyond using flowers all the time.  I won't lie, I was seriously thinking about using flowers, but the kraft color was throwing me.  Who has ever seen a kraft color flower, unless they are dead...not what I was going for.  So after going through my other stamps, I came across one I purchased from PaperTrey Ink about a year or so ago now and have never used it.  Yup, Darnell's famous NBUS!  Perfect!

I first drew pencil lines on my Gina K's White Pure Luxury cardstock to line up six of the patterned diamonds from PTI's Happy Harlequin stamp set, which I stamped in Stampin' Up's Night of Navy, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Gina K's Kraft inks.  After I had that stamped up, I wrapped some twine around the patterned cardstock and mounted it to SU's Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  I finished the card off with Simon Says Stamp die Happy Birthday, which I cut out of Night of Navy card stock.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to drop by Color Throwdown's blog to see the other beautiful cards created for color challenge #332.
