I finally found another color challenge...yea!! Color Throwdown has been around for awhile and I found it through some other bloggers I follow. I had been missing their deadlines do to work, but was able to get this week's done in time.
These colors are very pretty together and would never had thought to put them together before today. Even as I was pulling the colors, I was thinking to myself, these are not going to work well together. Boy, was I wrong!
My hubby's parents are celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary this coming Monday, so why not make them an anniversary card with these colors. The layout is the same as what I used for "Smile, it's your birthday" that I posted this past Sunday, I just added to it a bit.
I used Stampin' Up's "Bravo Burgundy" card stock as my base. I stamped PaperTrey Ink's "Life Is Beautiful" butterflies with SU's "Bravo Burgundy", "Melon Mambo" and "Pretty In Pink" inks and finished each butterfly off with some pearls and sequins on Gina K's "Pure Luxury White" card stock. I then found a scrap piece of pink card stock...the closest I could find to "Pretty in Pink" and stamped a few butterflies with SU's " Pretty in Pink" and then stamped "Happy" in SU's "Melon Mambo" ink and "Anniversary" in SU's "Bravo Burgundy" ink. Both stamps are from PTI's "Wet Paint" stamp set. I attached the pink card stock to the card and added some pearls to the butterfly and some sequins, too.
Thank you for stopping by and check out the other very pretty cards at CTD#295.
I am so glad I found another color challenge! I've missed them. They really get my creative juices flowing and I already have another card idea floating around in my head...now I just have to find the time to put it down on paper.
WOW...I never would have thought of using those colors together either, but they definitely work! And those butterflies are addictive, aren't they?!! Great card and I know Al's folks will love it! :0)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Sue! Don't you just love these butterflies?!
