Happy Father's Day to the best Fathers I know!
I have to say all three of these cards came together very quickly. I'm so glad I took a trip out to Country Needleworks. They had a great selection of stamps and designer paper to use for Father's Day!
This card is for my hubby. Al loves to fly fish and I snatched up this stamp as soon as I saw it. I hadn't hear of the stamp company before though. Woodware Craft Collection "Casting the Bait". The stamp was manufactured in the UK. I used watercolor paper and watercolored the sky with Tim Holtz's Distress Inks in "Broken China" and "Faded Jeans". After the ink and paper dried, I stamped "Casting the Bait" in Momento's "Tuxedo Black" ink. I attached the image to a piece of black linen card stock. I stamped "Happy Father's Day" from SavvyStamps.com in Stampin' Up's "Craft White" ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then attached the black card stock to Bazzill's "Ocean Breeze" card stock.
This one is for my dad. I was so excited to find a Mustang stamp at RubberNecker Stamps' website! My dad has loved Mustangs for many years. We had a 1967 Mustang that 4 of us kids got to drive. I was the last one to drive it...the frame was rusting out. It was a two door 3-speed stick! It was such a fun car to drive. I stamped the Mustang in Momento "Tuxedo Black" ink on Gina K's "Pure Luxury White" card stock and colored the Mustang as close to the color of ours with a Copic marker BG72. I popped up the Mustang which is attached to a piece of Stampin' Up's "Baja Breeze" I then used Stampin' Up's "Baja Breeze" card stock as the card base and added Karen Foster Design "Father Pattern" designer paper and Creative Imagination's "Green Stripes" dp. I finished off the card by adding silver cording and silver brads.
This card is for Al's dad. Al got his love of fishing from his dad. I wish dad could still get into a boat and go fishing with Al, but since his hip surgery, it's just not possible. So I brought a fish to him. The fish stamp is from Northwood Stamps as is the "Happy Father's Day" stamp. I stamped both in Momento's "Tuxedo Black" ink. I colored the fish with red, blue, green, yellow and tan pencils. I loved how the colors came together to look like a rainbow trout. Of course, after I colored it, Al tells me it's a Bass. I don't know my fish at all. I colored the fly with red and yellow pencils and added some "Diamond" stickles. The blue designer paper is from K & Co. "Happy Trails Clouds" and the wood designer paper is from Kaiser Craft "Weathered Base Coat Collection." I added some black brads to finish off the card.
I have to admit, I love making masculine cards!
ALL 3 of your cards are great and I love your colored rainbow/bass fish! :0)
