PTI's July's Create Along With Us

Hi everyone, I've been somewhat on a break.  I find summer a hard time to stamp.  When it's beautiful out, I would rather be out in the sunshine.  Especially when I think of how much I really don't like the cold.  The hot weather and humidity doesn't bother me.  My mojo is missing, too, which isn't helping either.

I did make a card today for PTI's Create Along With Us.  I'm also submitting the card in Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge "Flora and Fauna".  I really liked the card Danielle Flanders made using the new stamp set "It's the Thought".  I didn't realize it was a card front from last month until I started making the card and couldn't get the colors to match.  I went back and re-read her post.  For some reason, I never saw these card fronts last month...Lol.  Oh well, I had to improvise a bit.
Gina K Pure Luxury White CS
SU's Smoky Slate CS
Simple Stories' Snap Color Vibe 6x6 paper pad
PTI's ink colors in Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Autumn Rose, Ripe Avocado, Limeade Ice, Pure Poppy and Blueberry Sky
Hero Art's Pigment Unicorn ink
PTI's Floral Sketches stamp set
SU's Canvas stamp
VersaMark ink
Sequins and twine

I used the White pigment ink on all the leaves and flowers first, then went back and stamped over the white with the PTI ink colors.  I also used the white pigment ink for the outline of the flowers, too, and the sentiment.

The only thing I wish I had done differently was heat embossed the sentiment.  The colors are a bit more subdued than the card front Danielle used, but I'm still happy with the way it turned out.  Be sure to check out the other wonderful cards made for this month's Create with Us and this week's SSS Monday Challenge.

Thank you for stopping by.  I love it when you do.  Have a great week!

  1. WOW...I think you re-created Danielle's card beautifully Sue! Had to laugh too when I read about you not realizing that Danielle had used card fronts to start her card...I feel like I'm always missing out on something too until I go back and re-read...grrr! But anyway, you improvised beautifully and it's a lovely, lovely card!! :0)

  2. What a great take on Danielle's card and yours is even more praise worthy because you stamped it yourself! You did a fabulous job grouping your flowers together. I love the soft look!
