Joy

Hi everyone, I'm back again with another Christmas card.  Our challenge this week over at Merry Monday's blog is from Bonnie.  She would like us to use a wreath.  I had picked up the Memory Box "Grapevine Wreath" a while back and hadn't used it yet.  What a perfect chance to use it.

I still had some of my gold and silver paper out from last week's challenge, so I used gold and silver metallic paper and silver and gold glitter paper and die cut out a wreath out of each paper and put all 4 wreaths together.

My wonderful friend, Darnell Knauss, from blogland, pulled my name about a month ago, now, and I won a Darcie "Brick Pattern" embossing folder.  I thought this brick ef would be a wonderful background for my wreath.  Thank you, Darnell!!

I colored the brick with Tim Holtz's blending tool and Distress inks in "Walnut Stain", "Gathered Twigs", "Brushed Corduroy" and "Fired Brick"  I really like how the brick turned out.  I mounted the wreath to the front of the brick, added a red ribbon and stars die cut out with PaperTrey Ink's "Dangled Stars".  The brick is mounted to Stampin' Up's "Cherry Cobbler card stock, silver glitter paper and another piece of 'Cherry Cobbler" card stock.

I finished off the card by adding the word "Joy" out of Penny Black's "Love & Joy" that I die cut out with SU's "Cherry Cobbler" card stock and the silver glitter paper.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to check out the other great wreaths over at Merry Monday's Christmas Challenge Blog.

CTD #306 - Happy Birthday

This week's Color Throwdown used a great color combination.  Usually, I think to myself the colors they choose are never going to work together, but they always do.  I love the colors for this week.  They are Pale Plum, Pear Pizzazz and Night of Navy.

I used Stampin' Up's "Pear Pizzazz" and "Night of Navy" and Gina K's "Pure Luxury White" card stock.

I carefully stamped PaperTrey Ink's "Happy Birthday" from "Think Big Favorites #24" in SU's "Pale Plum", "Pear Pizzazz" and "Night of Navy" ink.  I used Tim Holtz's "Dot Fade" stencil in each corner with TH's circle blending tool to add the "Pale Plum" and "Pear Pizzazz" colors.

To finish off the card, I stamped two flowers from SU's "Flower Shop" in "Pear Pizzazz" ink and two flowers from SU's "Petite Petals" in "Pale Plum" ink and added SU's "Candy Dot" in the center of each flower in "Night of Navy".  I pop dotted each flower and attached them to the front of the card.

I loved how this card came together.  Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to check out the other beautiful cards using these great colors at CTD #306.

MM #122-Peace on Earth

After taking last week off from Merry Monday Christmas Challenge (I didn't have the supplies needed to make the card) I am back for this week's challenge #122.

I really liked this week's challenge of using black, silver and gold together on my card.  I was able to use a new die and stamp, too.

The card base is a black linen card stock, which I stamped "Peace on Earth" from PaperTrey Ink's "Think Big Favorites #21" stamp set in gold ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The star die cut is from PTI, also.  It is called "Dangled Stars".  I cut the stars out from a silver metallic paper.  I stamped "We Three Kings H126" from Morning Star Stamps in black ink and the star in gold ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder on white card stock and cut it out with Lil' Inkers "Stitched Mats Ovals", which I popped up on the card and I finished the card off with the gold ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to check out the other very beautiful cards at  Merry Monday's Christmas Challenge #122.

birthdays...birthdays..birthdays, plus CTD #305

I'm playing a little catch up this week, as I didn't do a couple challenges, because I didn't have the supplies they were looking for.  Did try to find some plaid ribbon, but that was a fail and thought about buying embossing paste, but just wasn't sure I would use it again.

This first card I made was for this week's Color Throwdown #305.  We had four colors to use, I had to substitute for two of them.  I used Tangerine Tango, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz and Smoky Slate.

A few weeks ago a few of us went down to Novi for the Auntie Annie's Rubber Stamp show.  I did do some damage that day!

Rubbernecker Stamps were one of many vendors at the show and I fell in love with their Create a Garden sets (there are 3 of them).  Yup, I bought them all!

For these 2 cards I used set 1 and 2.  For the first card, I used Stampin' Up's "Smoky Slate" ink for the basket and SU's "Pear Pizzazz" ink for the greens and shadowing.  I used SU's "Tangerine Tango" and "Bermuda Bay" for the flowers and finished them off with some "Clear Wink of Stella".  I also recently ordered "Square Prints" from PaperTrey Ink and was itching to use it, so I stamped the basket weave in SU's "Pear Pizzazz" "Bermuda Bay" and "Tangerine Tango" inks and cut out each square.  I added the orange baker's twine and mounted the card on "Basic Gray" and "Bermuda Bay" card stock.

This card, I made for my mother-in-law's birthday.  Again I used Rubbernecker's "Create a Garden Sets 1 & 2".  I used "Brushed Corduroy" Distress ink and SU's "Bermuda Bay," "Tangerine Tango" and "Pear Pizzazz" inks.   I added some sequins and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up's "Flower Patch" set.  I just love that saying.  I mounted this card on SU's "Pear Pizzazz" card stock.

One of my nephew's (Sam's) birthday is also coming up and we celebrated both his and Grandma Rose's birthdays last evening.  Sam loves cats and I thought this Penny Black stamp was perfect for him.

I inked up this PB cat (4319J) with Tuxedo Black ink and used many Copic markers to color him.  They were E-11, R-83, E-57, YR-21, R-27, E-23, Y-02, N-4, Y-000, G-14, E-30, B-14, E-31 and B-23.  The sentiments I used were from PaperTrey Ink's "Wet Paint III".  I mounted the card in SU's "Bordering Blue" (very old, but love this color) and "Crumb Cake" card stock.

Creative border with a color throwdown...

Today's card is for two challenges.  The first is the Make It Monday #175-Creative Borders and the second one is Color Throwdown #304.

I loved Danielle's Make It Monday card this week.  I have never made a shaped border from die cuts so I had to try it, and I loved the colors for this week's CTD #304-Bermuda Bay, Real Red and Smoky Slate, so wa-la...combined into one card.

I used Gina K's "Pure Luxury White" card stock and partially cut of the Friendly Flowers from PaperTrey Ink's "Friendly Flower" and "Friendly Flower Add On" die cuts.  I stamped "Happy Birthday" from PTI's "Think Big Favorites #24" and some of the flowers from PTI's "Friendly Flowers" stamp set in Stampin' Up's "Bermuda Bay", "Real Red", and "Smoky Slate" inks.  I also used SU's "Smoky Slate", "Bermuda Bay" and "Real Red" card stocks.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to check out the other beautiful cards for both Make It Monday #175 and Color Throwdown #304.

'Tis the Season....

for snow much fun!   I'm back again with another Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #120.  This week's challenge is to use skis, skates, sleds to create out Christmas card and this card will also work for Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Make It Sparkle.

I decided to use "Winter Wonderland" set from Penny Black.  I thought the bunny sledding on a large leaf would be perfect.  Both pieces of  card stock is from SEI's "Winter Song" 12x12 paper pack.

The snow is glittered and trees looked great in the background on this paper.  I colored the bunny with Copics #E23, E25, RV11, G12, G43, YG11 and B12. I added "Tis the Season" from PaperTrey Ink's "Signature Christmas" set.  I added just a touch of sparkle from PTI's "Make It Market Kit-Shakers & Sprinkles" by Betsy Veldman.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to stop by Merry Monday Christmas Challenge and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge to see what other beautiful

card were created.

It's Your Birthday...

Merry Monday's Christmas Challenge is changing it up a bit...this week we are celebrating LeAnne Pugliese's birthday.
                       Happy Birthday LeAnne!!!

I understand it is a milestone birthday for her!  It is a pleasure to make a card for her.  She always leaves such wonderful comments when we participate in MM Challenges.  She is well deserving of all the card she receives this week!  How fun is this!

I am also combining this challenge with CTD #303 and Anything Goes for Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.  This week's Color Throwdown challenge is to use Cool Carribean, Garden Green, Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade.  Woohoo...3 challenges for one card!  I love it when that happens.

Stampin' Up's "Garden Green is the base for this card.  I used Momento's "Tuxedo Black" ink on Gina K's "Pure Luxury White" card stock with a stamp from PaperTrey Ink's "Doodlie Do" stamp set.  I used a scrap piece of typing paper to mask off the middle where I die cut out "Happy Birthday" from Penny Black's "Celebration" creative dies with SU's "Poppy Parade" card stock.  I used 4 Copic markers close to the CTD colors for the week and colored in the flowers.  They were BG15, G43, R27 and YG45.  I finished off the card with a few sequins.

Thanks for stopping by and  you still have time to make a card for each of these challenges.  Enjoy your Sunday.   I and a few friends are heading over to Novi tomorrow to enjoy Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival.  It should be a fun day!
