Happy Birthday for MIM #159 and DD Challenge #98

I love it when I'm able to make one card to work for two challenges.  I wasn't going to make a "No Sew-Quilted" card for Make It Monday #159, but after looking at the beautiful cards everyone has been posting all week, I knew I wanted to make one, if I had time over the weekend. 

Dynamic Duos Challenge #98 is calling for Stampin' Up's "Wisteria Wonder" and "So Saffron".  As I was mulling over these two colors and what I wanted to do, the light bulb went off and so here I am with my "Wisteria Wonder and So Saffron No Sew Quilted" card. 

I used Gina K's "Pure Luxury Ivory" card stock for the base.  I cut a white piece of typing paper to use as the backing of my quilt.  I started punching out SU's "Wisteria Wonder" and "So Saffron" hexagons with SU's "Hexagon" punch.  I punched out "Pure Luxury Ivory" hexagons, too.  I attached the hexagons to the white typing paper to make my quilt pattern.  After all the hexagons were taped down, I used SU's "Soft Swirls" background stamp with VersaMark and embossed it with clear embossing powder over the hexagon quilt pattern.  I cut out hearts from SU's Sizzix "Fashionable Hearts" embosslits in both "Wisteria Wonder" and "So Saffron" and attached them to the "Pure Ivory" hexagons.  I ran the quilt pattern through the Cuttlebug with QuicKutz "Retro Diamonds" embossing folder.  I finished off the card by adding a piece of vellum that I stamped with PTI's "Think Big Favorites #24" happy birthday in SU's "Wisteria Wonder" ink and quickly covered it with clear embossing powder to make it pop a bit.  I attached it to the front of the card and then added the purple baker's twine to finish off the card.

It was such a fun card to make.  A little labor intensive, but well worth it.  I really love the way it turned out.
