Festive Friday

I'm back again with another Christmas card.  This one is for Festive Friday's challenge.  Here's the inspiration picture for us to draw our idea from...

I have to admit, I wasn't going to do this challenge because I don't have a jar stamp.  The pine cone stamps I have are very tiny and I just couldn't think of anything I could put together.  So it was back to the Silhoutte Cameo again.  I downloaded a jar, pine cones, Christmas lights and a doily to make my card.

I used "Always Artichoke" by Stampin' Up and "Pure Ivory" card stock from Gina K.  I used acetate to cut out the jar and vellum to cut out the lace doily that I cut down to look like a lid cover.  I inked up "Christmas Sayings Stamp #3421R" by Rubber Stampede with VersaMark ink and embossed it with "Pearl White" PEARLustre by Stamendous.  The ribbon is from Gina K.  I also used Martha Stuart's pine punch.  I love that punch!

This card was truly a labor of love to put together.  It was hard to fit all of the greens, lights and pine cones under the jar.  Nothing wanted to stay put.  It was a tad frustrating.

Thank you for stopping by.  Don't forget to check out the other beautiful cards at Festive Friday.

  1. Really cool card and well worth the effort it took to get everything to "stay" in the jar! Love your background...it is so soft looking and a perfect backdrop for the bold colors of the pinecones, lights, and leaves. Really, really love your jar lid too! Great job!! :0)

  2. This definitely has a very festive feel! I love the bright pops of red in amongst all your greenery - a clever way to use die cutting when you don't have stamps! Thanks so much for joining us at Festive Friday!

  3. What a festive and fun card, Sue! I love what you've done, but remember you can choose anything that strikes your fancy from the inspiration photo…you wouldn't have to use a jar. I know how it is though, when you have something in your mind but don't have the stamps. I do love what you've come up with and am so glad you played along with us at Festive Friday!
