Beautiful Blooms for Dynamic Duos #96

What a beautiful day it was here.  The sun was shining and the temperature was 52 degrees.  It felt like heaven outside today!  It was hard to come inside to make a card for Dynamic Duos Challenge #96.

I started with Gina K's "Pure White" card stock.  I made the card 5.5" x 3.5" (Marcia showed me this size card about a month ago from Melissa Phillips).  I really do like the size of this card.  I  used Stampin' Up's "Melon Mambo" and "Gumball Green" card stock and inks.  The other inks I used were StazOn Opaque in "Cotton White" and "VersaMark".  The stamps I used were SU's "French Script" and PTI's "Beautiful Blooms" and one small flower stamp from SU, but I don't know which set it came from.

I started out by stamping "French Script" in the "Cotton White" StazOn ink on the white card base and the small piece of white card stock.  I let the ink dry and them stamped the leaves and flower centers in "Gumball Green" and the flowers in "Melon Mambo".  As you stamp over the white inked  french script, you can see it in the flowers as the dye ink resists the pigment ink.  Such a cool technique.  You can learn more about this technique from Heather Nichols over at PTI here.

I mounted the piece of white card stock on "Melon Mambo" and tied some pink DMC floss around it and mounted it to the card base.  I cut out a piece of "Gumball Green" card stock and stamped the "French Script" in "VersaMark and used SU's "Scallop Edge" punch.  I wrapped some pink DMC floss around it and mounted it to the card base.  For the finishing touch, I added 3 white iridescent sequins to the card.

Thank you for stopping by and check out the rest of the cards using "Gumball Green" and a color of their choice at Dynamic Duos Challenge #96.
