Mother's Day Card

Doing some catching up.  This card is one I made for a make-n-take for a group I belong to.  We try to meet once a month.  We meet at each others homes.  A couple of the ladies make the food for dinner, some make make cards to swap, and then we make 3 or 4 cards that we've  brought for make-n-takes.  Before the night is over, we sign up for the next month's get together.  It's so much fun to see what the group comes up with for dinner, swaps and make-n-takes.  We had quite a group earlier this  month.

This card was inspired by a few different cards I liked on Pinterest.

The card base is Stampin' Up's Pink Passion.  The next layer is white card stock.  I stamped the diagonal stripes (Clearly Besotted) in Tuxedo Black ink.  The top layer, I used a piece of water color paper.  I inked up the spotted background stamp (Rubber Necker) with Peeled Paint, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, and Tumbled Glass (distress inks and stains), spritzed the stamp with water and then applied it to paper.  While it was drying, I die cut the flower (Glorious Gerber Daisies from Memory Box) in SU's Pink Passion and glued it to the water color paper.  The sentiment is from SU's Mother's Love stamp set (stamped in Tuxedo Black ink).  I finished the card off by adding some pearls.

I may not be able to post as often as I would like.  I've been blessed with the pleasure of making my son's and his finance's wedding invitations.  As soon as they are delivered (mid June), I will post their wedding invitation.  We are finalizing the design, via the US mail, as their jobs have taken them to Wisconsin.  I am hoping to go into "producing" them beginning in May.  This will give me about a month to have them ready for Nick and Danielle to address and get ready for the mail.  Their August wedding will be here before I know it.

This is all in addition to me going full-time at my current job, which is awesome, but, right now, as I am adjusting to working full time, my card making has taken a bit of a back seat.  I hope you will hang in there with me.  Thank you so much for stopping by.
