Birthday posies for Dynamic Duos Challenge (DD#87)

I need to start today, by thanking Darnell Knauss for the shout out on her blog http://www.djkardkreations.com/ today.  That was so very nice of her.  If you have time and haven't visited her blog, check her out.  She has gorgeous cards and I love her playhouse.  I wish I had one!!!

I need to start making  February birthday cards for my sister and I wanted to see what the colors were for Dynamic Duos today and thought these two colors would look great on a birthday card.  I don't have any umbrella stamps or die cuts, so I was glad that was optional.  Here's my card for this week's challenge and I have one card done for my sister...always a bonus.  I used Stampin' Up's black card stock and then used Gina K's "passionate pink" card stock and the designer paper is from Gina K's "Wisteria Lane" 6x6 pack.  The black ribbon is also from Gina K.  I used Spellbinders "Heartfelt Creations Posy: die cuts for all the flowers.  The large posy is cut out of the pink card stock and backed with designer paper.  I then cut smaller posies out of black card stock and the circles out of the pink cardstock and used pearl dots to finish off the flowers.  All the flowers are pop dotted, as is the pink card stock.  The stamp "make a wish" is from an unknown stamp set that Marcia gave me as a gift a few years back.  Thanks DD for the color challenge this week.  Thank you for stopping by.

  1. What a cute, cute card Sue! Love that color combination and the bright and cheery feeling to the card. And I have an umbrella die (Impression Obsession) if you ever need it.

  2. Thanks, Marcia. That's good to know. I just never thought I would like an umbrella stamp or die, but they have some cute cards out there with umbrellas.
