A Stencil Happy Birthday

Hi everyone,
I only had time to make one card today, but IRL how it turned out.  I love when ideas pop in my head and I give them a whirl and they actually work!

This card is for four challenges this week.  I love it when that happens.  First and foremost, the card originates from PTI's Make It Monday Challenge #241.  Ombre stencil blending with Betsy Veldman.  She used three colors with her sample, but I only used two and after I finished the card, and looked at Betsy's sample again, did I realize, I should not have filled up the whole page.  It's suppose to fade into white.  Oops!  Not very ombre.  The colors I chose are from this week's CTD #382, hot pink, teal, white and black.  This card also works for Darnell's NBUS Challenge #6 and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - add texture, which is the white and black embossing.  For Darnell's Challenge, the Tim Holtz stencil is my NBUS.  You might notice that there is some white embossing peeking out from under the black embossed butterflies.  I originally did them in white, but they were getting lost on the page, so I changed them to black.  IRL the white peeking out under the black.

  4. Well, I love your version of the technique, Sue! It's nice when we are inspired by another card artist but then our own hamsters take off and make it our "own!" And I love how the white peeks out from under the black butterflies! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #6! I'm sorry I'm very late in coming by to comment. Enjoy your weekend!! Hugs, Darnell
